Mission
Many government contracts lack the ability to produce results and achieve agency goals. Often, these failures are attributed to lack of training and performance measures in government contracting. Performance-based contracting has long been used in the government, but has been mostly unsuccessful. Recently, the President's Management Agenda has demanded an increase in "performance-based" contracts and has also rewritten the rules for competitive sourcing, but research and training are still necessary to successfully implement this arm of the PMA.
The Center for Contracting and Competitive Sourcing provides ground-breaking educational and outreach services that bring together contracting and competitive sourcing experts to provide informative and comprehensive learning experiences that deliver best-practices and answer questions. By harnessing expert advice and valuable knowledge from experienced contracting and competitive sourcing professionals, the center is able to produce a number of conferences, training programs and consulting services in the area of procurement, contracting, and competitive sourcing.
The Center for Contracting and Competitive Sourcing uses training and consulting services focused on teaching the "Seven Steps for Creating Performance-Based Contracts." It also offers implementation of PI's Government Performance Logic Model to create educational training programs that promote change and innovation in government contracting that enhance performance in services to the taxpayer.
