Blossom Tande

Blossom Tande is a “Consummate and Compleat Six Sigma Angler” ™, educator, and Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt. An industry recognized Six Sigma Expert, Blossom is the owner of EDUCATION CONNECTION, a business advisory, research, and analysis firm that specializes in corporate strategy development, implementation and process improvement throughout all aspects of the business.
Blossom’s varied experiences and successful projects include public, private, and volunteer businesses of Utilities, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Construction, Printing, Local and State Government, and Education. As a Six Sigma Black Belt, Blossom has over 20 years of experience and specialization in change management. She served in multiple leadership roles for Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft, federal and commercial aerospace and military engineering companies, where she was responsible for managing and performing business and financial services. Her projects and accomplishments included driving change management, analyzing business processes, implementing process improvements and achieving operational efficiencies. Blossom is also a recipient of the Hughes Aircraft Summit Award. The highest achievement awarded to an individual for significant contribution to the financial and strategic achievement of Hughes Values, Goals, and Initiatives.
Most recently, Blossom undertook consulting services with the State of Indiana’s Department of Natural Resources in the roll out of their Six Sigma Improvement program. Early results have produced reductions in registration backlog by 96% and licensing cue by 80%. In 2006, her services spanned several industries including the development, implementation, and mentoring of Indiana’s Department of Transportation Black Belt program; a manufacturing re-engineering and process improvement program for a clinical laboratory for pharmaceutical and biotechnology company; and a corporate wide work release program for a utilities company. As a Director at AFNI, a fast growing outsourcing customer interactions company, Blossom facilitated and implemented the strategic planning process for Call Center Services, including overseeing project management of new sites, identifying market potential and analyzing recruitment and retention initiatives resulting in a significant revenue increase and a reversal from a negative to positive earnings position.
Blossom received a Master of Science Degree in Business with a specialization in Global Supply Chain Management from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, California. Blossom has also completed UCLA’s Management program, Leadership Education for Asian Pacific’s, as well as Raytheon’s Executive Leadership Program and Hughes Aircraft’s Business Executive Development program.
Volunteering is a passion Blossom has performed since her early teens. As an advocate for abused children to coaching at risk youth, Blossom has devoted her time and talents to improving the quality of life for other individuals. She joined Wish kids International as their Board Chair in 2004 to develop their business strategy and further their efforts to assist HIV/Aids victims & survivors in Africa. Most recently, Blossom coordinated the efforts and establishment of Wishkids International’s Counseling and Physical Therapy Clinic, Outreach ministry, and future Community Center.
As an industry educator, Blossom serves as a Six Sigma Workshop Trainer and Conference Speaker for the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) and The Performance Institute, on various subject matters including Finance, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, and Government performance initiatives. Her global involvement has afforded a diverse group of CEO’s and VP’s the opportunity to learn how to succeed at implementing strategic business plans using Lean Six Sigma. In addition, Blossom is also a Marcus Evans conference speaker on the effective application of Six Sigma in the Service Industry.
